Terms of Service

The terms of using Itinerist. Last updated June 21, 2026.

What Itinerist provides

Itinerist creates custom travel itineraries — researched, personalized planning delivered as a document. We are a planning and research service, not a travel agency, tour operator, or booking platform. We do not sell flights, hotels, tours, or any travel service, and we do not book on your behalf; you arrange and pay for all travel directly with the providers we recommend. Itinerist is operated by CARDBOARD IN SEATTLE LLC in Seattle, Washington.

What you purchase

Each order is one itinerary for the trip you describe, at the price shown before you pay. Refining your itinerary until it fits is included, on a fair-use basis: we don’t count or charge for revisions in normal use, but we may limit refinement that is excessive, automated, or outside ordinary trip planning. Genuinely new scope, like adding a destination or extending your dates, is new work, and we quote it before we do it.

Refunds and our guarantee

If your itinerary isn’t right, tell us and we’ll refine it until it fits. If we still can’t make it work for you, we’ll refund you in full — just reach out before your trip begins. Because each itinerary is custom-built, we ask that you give us the chance to fix it first. Before your itinerary is delivered, you may cancel any time for a full refund.

The Accuracy Warranty

Purchases are covered by the Itinerist Accuracy Warranty. If a place we recommended has materially changed or closed, tell us and we will research and replace it free of charge, from delivery through your last day of travel. The warranty is our commitment to fix our research — not a guarantee of any third party’s conduct.

Recommendations and links

We recommend on merit. We may earn a commission when you book through some of the links we provide, but commission never influences what we recommend or the order we recommend it in — we are paid by you, not by the venues.

Third parties are outside our control

Hotels, restaurants, tours, and transport are independent businesses; their availability, prices, hours, and quality can change, and they can cancel or disappoint. We research carefully but do not control them and are not responsible for their acts, omissions, or changes. Booking, payment, cancellation, and any disputes are between you and them.

Your responsibilities

Give us accurate information in the intake — the plan is only as good as what you tell us. You are responsible for your own bookings, travel documents, visas, insurance, and health and safety decisions. Our safety notes are researched guidance to help you decide; they are not guarantees of safety.

Intellectual property

Your itinerary is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use. Itinerist retains all rights in its methods, prompts, templates, and the underlying product. You may not resell, republish, or redistribute the itinerary, or use it to build a competing service.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Itinerist’s total liability for any claim arising from your itinerary or these terms is limited to the amount you paid for that itinerary. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including missed reservations, trip disruptions, or costs arising from a third party’s acts. The service is provided “as is.”

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA.
