About Itinerist

Itinerist makes one thing: a bespoke, hour-by-hour travel itinerary, researched against current data and designed around how you actually travel. Not a booking site, not a feed, not a free chatbot in a nicer font. The work of planning a trip well — done once, properly, and handed to you as a finished document.

Where this came from

This started as one traveler's frustration. Five continents in, the pattern never changed: planning a good trip was a second job, and the information couldn't be trusted. When AI arrived, it helped — and then it kept handing back confident, stale answers. Restaurants that had closed. Museum hours that changed last season. Recommendations that read beautifully and fell apart on the ground. The tools were fast, but they didn't check anything, and checking was the whole job.

So we built the thing that should have existed: a planner that does the verification, recommends from current and insider knowledge instead of a guess, and costs a fraction of a travel agency for the same finished result.

Why we can stand behind the warranty

The Accuracy Warranty isn't bravado — it's possible because of how the product is built. Every itinerary is a structured set of addressable stops, each one researched and date-stamped, each with an alternate already on hand. So when something closes or changes, replacing that one stop is a small, contained fix, not a teardown. We can promise free defect replacements through the end of your trip because the way it's built makes that promise cheap to keep.

Who builds this

Itinerist is built by Joe Garvey — a product leader who has spent his career building data and AI products, and who plans his own trips down to the minute. The discipline behind the product is the same one he brings to that planning: don't trust a claim you haven't checked, and don't hand someone a plan you wouldn't follow yourself.

That's why the checking is the product, not a feature. Every recommendation is researched against current sources and dated, because the founder got burned by stale answers often enough to build the alternative.

What we promise, plainly

We say researched, not booked — we don't hold reservations or guarantee availability, and we tell you exactly how and when to book. We're paid by you, not by the places we recommend. When we can't confirm something, we say so. That's the whole deal.
