The final 12 km on the SS163 Amalfi Drive are narrow, hairpin-intensive, and non-negotiable: a professional driver experienced on this road is strongly preferred over self-drive. September traffic on the Amalfi coast road peaks at midday; targeting a Positano arrival by 15:30–16:00 threads the needle comfortably.
